Try a cliché

Well according to the Collins pocket dictionary a cliché is described as ‘an expression or idea that is no longer effective because of overuse.’ If it is an overused idea or expression then why do people still use clichés, surely there must be other analogies out there? Why not try a new saying or phrase? The possibilities with the English language are endless.

Many of us are very familiar with the phrases such as, before I knew it, without a doubt, in the nick of time, and the list goes on. Funny enough we use clichés on a daily basis and many of us don’t even realise it. Maybe life is like a cliché, going about doing and saying the same things everyday. Maybe we should try not to be cliché and be a bit more individualistic.

  1. I totally agree with you, individualistic is the way to go - Lets think before we say things, because people become bored with this kind of conversation.

  2. I like what you mentioned in the second paragraph. Maybe people should try and step out of the norm every now and then. There is no harm in a little adventure.

  3. I agree with Donna, and I enjoyed the way you linked everything together in the end. It is important to be orginal and different.
