“Hurry up! We are going to be late,” I shouted at my bridesmaids. “Is everything sorted?” I asked in a hurry. “We have one small problem…” Kirby said softly.
Oh goodness, what on earth could it be now again? After a year of planning everything down to the last detail, one would think that everything would run smoothly on the big day- guess not!
“I don’t want to know what it is this time but please sort it out. Actually wait, I do want to know what it is,” I mumbled. “Well… the wedding cake hasn’t been delivered to the reception yet because the caterer is stuck in traffic or something like that,” explained Kirby. “But don’t worry, nothing is going to ruin your special day,” she reassured me. “Sigh… Let’s be off then!” I said worryingly.
As much as I knew Kirby would handle things, I couldn’t help but worry about my cake.
On our way to the church we also hit a bit of traffic. Great, is there anything else I still need to endure today? “Hey, isn’t that the caterer’s truck up front?” I asked my bridesmaids. “Yeah it is, but he seems to be the one causing the traffic,” said Kirby. Kirby got out of the car to see what the problem was. She came back with a bleached face as if she saw a ghost. “What is it? Tell me!” I demanded. “Your… Its… Errr… I think you should go see for yourself,” Kirby said blankly. I took her advice and got out of the car to see what the commotion was about and there it was, my wedding cake-in-the-middle-off-the-road, ruined. I passed out.

What a brilliant story. I enjoyed it to the very end, hoping there is a part two.
